A lot has been going on in the past four weeks, which is why the blog has fallen silent. Brian and I were on vacation in South East and the Yukon for two weeks in early June. We hiked and/or biked every day and drank beers and ate tons of food every night. It was a great time.
Then a week later we set out on a four day trip in the Chugach with our friend Carl. We had planned to circumnavigate Mount Rumble and maybe climb it too. We didn't actually meet either of those goals, but we got to some really cool places in Chugach State Park with some unbelievable scenery. More to come on that.
This past weekend was the 24 Hours of Matanuska. I randomly signed up for the 24 solo division and was the only woman. I ended up just riding casually with a few friends, so I actually did less laps than most of the women who rode in the 12 hour division! How embarrassing! But it was fun. Pictures and stories to follow.
This weekend Mount Marathon is coming up. This will be my third time racing it and I hope to finish in under 1:30 this time. I haven't been doing any formal training for this race, but have been hiking and biking my ass off. I feel like I'm in better shape than ever before.
After that I will have a free weekend or two to catch up, but I hope to get some photos out on here this week from recent adventures.
